    It was delivered Saturday

The FedEx man arrived, rather unexpectedly, to deliver the saw. So now I have it.

    This goal is now done.

Now I have to figure out how to use it. That should not be too difficult as it came with instructions.

Also, I need to use this safely so the only limbs being cut are tree limbs. No human limbs, mine and anyone else's.

    Being delivered Wednesday

I got the saw ordered. It will arrive Wednesday. It is the Poulan Pro PP5020AV 20-Inch 50cc. The reviews looked OK on this. The best advice in the reviews was to read the directions. I do this sometimes. For this, I will be sure.

The delivery is scheduled in the middle of the big snowstorm that is forecast. It is going to be an exciting day all around.

    The time has come

I have been able to get along without needing one of these for a long time. I have a long handled pruner that works great on small branches and a bow saw for larger items.

The windstorm that just went through this area has delivered me a challenge only a chainsaw can handle. See picture and no further explanation should be needed.

@bob1623 Do you think you might be able to borrow one for this occasion? Of course you want one that works well and is in good condition but have you heard of Streetbank? It could be an alternative to spending the money.

@ExplorerSoul Yes, I did consider trying to borrow one. I do have friends who have these. In fact my neighbor has one and we were going to use it to cut some wood I have piled up. Trouble was, it was not working right. I don't know if he ever got it fixed.

The issue with borrowing one, then I would feel I need to get this work done fairing quickly. I don't want that. I want to take my time and do this as time permits.

I have never heard of Streetbank. I will check it out. Thanks for the tip. I appreciate this very much.

sorry about your tree. in spite of the destruction, it still looks like a beautiful day for you, now that the windstorm has passed. Looks like the tree didn't hit anything, hopefully

@wyverndust The day after the storm was nice. And the fallen tree was away from the house so there only damage was to the tree. It was not the first time that tree had lost branches.

The weather has been crazy here. The past few days have been frigid, around 15°F all day. And now snow is in the forecast for tomorrow. Most people have the power back. There are still some areas with major wind damage needing cleanup. It is all pretty crazy.
