I have just found a large box of coloured pencils that will make this job easier. Now to get colouring.
Some pages that were finished a few months ago.
But now I am back to coloring again. I am doing it while listening to podcasts. I am trying to spend time on it 15-30 minutes day.. It's calming and relaxing.
I am back to it again this afternoon but haven't finished that page yet.
I have a brain anatomy book I am going through. Love it.
@lifeholder We used one of those in my neuroscience class. It was pretty cool :)
I can't believe how addicting picking up new adult coloring books can become. I just counted and found out tonight that I am up to 7 coloring books so I think I need to put a hold on buying any new ones until I complete some of the ones that I have. I can see the need for variety as some of the books like the Celtic Knotwork mandalas are fine detail as compared to others chosen for their simpler designs. Regardless it is a given that I have sufficient variety for my needs at the present time.
It really builds on you
So far I have found coloring mandalas to be really helpful in managing anxiety. While the Celtic mandala coloring book was without a doubt helpful, the Celtic knotwork at times can be a bit more complex. So I wanted to pick up something more simple for variety. I also discovered that Crayola now makes mechanical colored pencils which they call Twistables. The combination a cheap price and looking cheap - they are around $7 for a box of 30 and look a bit like extra long crayons - caused me to be uneasy about getting a box to try. I must say I was pleasantly surprised at how well they perform.
After doing some reading about how adult coloring books are said to have mental health benefits I figured it was a given that I needed to give them a try. So I picked up supplies yesterday during a Walmart run. Among the 3 adult coloring books available in the book section was one of Celtic Mandalas which was the obvious choice. I wasn't sure about markers vs colored pencils so I picked up both to find out which I end up enjoying using more.
@celticchristian I have those same colored pencils! Oooohhhh I like the markers and the book too. Alas, I have vowed NOT to buy any more art supplies for a while. (I have plenty.) Have fun! And it is very relaxing and meditative, coloring.
@beequeen I understand I am like that with office supplies (especially pocket notebooks) and want to avoid getting that way when it comes to art supplies. The markers do produce nice results but are a bit wet which makes them awkward to use as one needs to take the bleed range into consideration which makes them less relaxing to use compared colored pencils.
@celticchristian Yeah, you do have to take the into consideration re markers eh? I am glad to hear that some of us still like to use and purchase paper and paper products, pencils, pens, notebooks, et.al, for work or play. That everything isn't digitized. That hand/manual design and and penmanship still have a fighting chance in the digitized age.
Colored last night & today in my new book that my Sibling bought for me!
I have started it!
I did it with my youngest niece last week while babysitting her. The girl is now into art, water painting and coloring. So, it's an awesome way to spend quality time with her doing thing we share common with.
@joyjoei How cute!
I added this but most likely this won't be enjoyed until August. Between family visiting and work travel, and my current work load have very little time.

I truly believe Augustine’s words are true and if you look at history you know it is true. There are many people in the world.
