Whenever I get ready for the new day, I reinvent myself.

I was in a couple of really bad relationships so I changed to a completely different person. I am certain my last relationship would have worked out had we met before we had our other relationships. He was scared of a serious relationship because his ex-wife divorced him but instead blamed me or made up unrealistic things that had to happen first. But he opened my eyes to how much I was letting my bad experiences change me. So now I'm trying to reinvent myself to a person more like the person I used to be but also keeping the best of this person like not be so naiv and not let people decide for me.

I know some people like to see themselves as phoenices rising from their own ashes, I'd rather see myself as a continuous work in progress. It is not so much a reinvention as an adaptation, but likely we're talking semantics right now. So as far as the questions goes I'm appealed to say none, but I've changed plenty of times, moved a lot within my home country, got married, moved abroad 5 times. Still it did not make me a totally different person, just an adapted version of me. But it is hard to put a number on it.

I prefer to think of life as one long invention. Adaptations, ear-shearing and wing-adding accepted.

    My answer is:

Seven, (that I can think of at the moment) and working, currently, on the 8th metamorphosis. Have left the chrysalis, but my wings are still wet and tender. They're taking longer to dry and to toughen up enough for flight this time........

    1) Left home and went into first long term relationship; living together and becoming we (I was very young)
    2) End of first long term relationship, becoming a wide eyed world traveler for the first time
    3) Going to college, furthering my edjumacation leaving Catholicism, toying with atheism, having my consciousness raised high, high, higher!
    4) City living, cosmopolitanism, spiritual reawakening, agnosticism, pantheism, deism, paganism
    5) More traveling, more college, more consciousness raising!
    6) Third long term relationship and a house; nesting, creating, creating creating.........art, life and color, everywhere
    7) End of third long term relationship; injury, desertion, dislocation, relocation (moving home), healing, new work, reconnecting with old friends and family. Color of everything, returning.
8)Now. In progress. The vale of soul making.
