    I got myfitnesspal last night and I've started logging my food. Not a fan of all the math involved, but I'm doing it.

    I've noticed a funny thing happen when using weight as a measure of progress. Two months ago, I restarted working out at the gym on a regular basis. Now my weight is higher than when I restarted! However, I feel better and others have noticed that my body looks better.
    I've come to learn that weight is only one measure, and it's healthy to include it among other measures, such as how it feels to walk or run some distance, how easy (or hard) it is to get up from sitting on the floor, and simply how I feel.
    I've also noticed that I can feel great about myself no matter how much I weigh, and that lightens me up.

    Weekends are the worst! I have to keep my calorie intake controlled :)

    Well here's the plan:

    Low carb / high protein
    No sugar / no white flour
    Walking/hiking 3 days a week
    Weight training 3 days a week

    And it all starts January 15th!

    I never had a weight problem before autoimmune thyroid disease. I don't eat much and eat healthy. Before diagnosis, I went from 120lbs to 230lbs in less than three months, and it was awful. I'm down quite a bit but I'd like to get down to 140!
