When I'm avoiding doing something, or avoiding someone, I notice my energy level is lower and I feel less connected to things.
I've also noticed that after I've faced something I've been avoiding, I learn something about myself and my energy level and joy go up!

Even though my phone lost track of a week of walking, my daily average for the last month is 10,413 (12,500 this week!) and 9,437 a day for the last year. Progress is slow but certain!

My average dropped a bit this month, although is still over 10,000 at 12,357. My daily average for the year is still growing ever so slightly - now it's at 9.391 a day for the last year.

My daily average is up to 12,961 for the last month. It's taking a bit of time to raise my daily average over the last year, although it is rising. It's now 9,163, having been helped most of all by this great April.

I've restarted regular meditation and it's great! My wife had noticed how much more she loves being around me when I'm regularly meditating and asked if I would help her learn. For Christmas, I paid for her instruction in TM (Transcendental Meditation). She's loving it! The people she works with have noticed her increased clarity and calm.
Now we meditate together two times a day, and it's yet another sweet way we can enjoy being with each other, and support each other's growth.

For many years, I avoided any food with a bar code or which had too much packaging. Last year, I began to buy a "salad kit" each morning for my lunch. I find them to be fresh, healthy, convenient, and reasonably priced. Plus, I'm not wasting as much food which typically goes bad.
They've helped me regularly eat more vegetables, and that's a great thing in itself.

This is turning out to be simpler than I thought. It's started with buying a few more fresh fruits and vegetables, and also having more juices and smoothies instead of processed food. I feel better and lighter.

The mortality tables say I have something like 7,900 mornings left. That's plenty of time to do a lot, and yet is a finite number.
I've noticed that with each passing year, my likely age to die goes up. So, one year from now, I'll likely have about 7,600 days.

I'm reminded of a little grook by Piet Hein:

We should live each day as though
it were our last day here below.
But if I did, alas, I know,
it would have killed me long ago.

I've been enjoying this method to express gratitude - first ask the person if they're ready to receive a little gratitude. Yes, get consent. Yes, some people will say it's not a good moment and ask to receive that at a later moment, when they can savor it.
By asking someone first, they usually listen more carefully and receive my gratitude more fully.
Okay, some people have from time to time first asked if I am expecting anything in return for my gratitude. No worries - after regular practice so many people learn that I'm truly grateful and that's it.
I'm grateful for learning this approach, and for having many opportunities to offer gratitude.

I've started noticing more duplicate goals. I don't mean just the ones which are similar.
It would be great to be able to suggest which goals may be identical or so similar that they're basically the same.

@chenmingi Not necessarily merging, just showing a section with similar goals and giving us the option to change. Merging implies automatically combining.

I've noticed a funny thing happen when using weight as a measure of progress. Two months ago, I restarted working out at the gym on a regular basis. Now my weight is higher than when I restarted! However, I feel better and others have noticed that my body looks better.
I've come to learn that weight is only one measure, and it's healthy to include it among other measures, such as how it feels to walk or run some distance, how easy (or hard) it is to get up from sitting on the floor, and simply how I feel.
I've also noticed that I can feel great about myself no matter how much I weigh, and that lightens me up.

I and my partner continue to agree to this as a key part of our relationship: "All the truth. All the time".
It's one of the most powerful commitments, because it's both easy and difficult. It only seems difficult like a muscle which hasn't been used in awhile. Shading the truth is done so often in many cultures and upbringings (such as ours!) which can make it difficult to spot at first. With practice, it gets easier to share our own truth, without blame or shame, and with no victims or villains. I'm also feeling lighter, more at peace, and more loving.

Many years ago, I heard a talk by Ray Bradbury, the prolific author. His "secret" was that he absolutely, positively wrote every single day. He said that many of his pieces never saw the light of day in their original form, but might come to life at some future point (with a little additional work...).

I found it interesting in the past to say "I need to tell you the truth", and to then watch whoever I said that to. Many hear such words as being "I need to tell you some uncomfortable truth", or "I need to tell you something that you need to change".
Instead, now I begin by sharing that I have something to offer as a way to deepen my connection with them and allow us to be clear with each others. When I'm clear in my intention, I feel better and notice that I'm more likely to be heard.
Also, by offering my truth without expecting the other to change, it's not a hidden judgement or command.
Furthermore, I can speak that it's my own truth and invite them to express their own truth, knowing that both views (and others) can be brought together to produce a richer perspective and understanding.
