2 weeks Phil free and loving it. I don't think of him very often unless Shawn gets angry and brings up the past, or we pass him on the road, or my grandma asks if I've heard from him, which I have not. And I have been thriving for the most part. Still a bit of trouble with taking my medicines, still struggling with food issues, but I haven't made myself sick yet and I don't plan to. I guess I'm focusing on weight instead of phil.

Recovering from my black eye and it will be the last black eye i ever have that has anything to do with phil! Am still making it the new year without the loser and if I make it to my birthday in April i will consider putting my Thor's hammer back on. Not until I've proved that I earn the right to wear it. Not a damn day before.

@seekingmimirswell You didn't write about it, did you? I don't remember reading about it. Do you feel comfortable sharing what happened?

Would you re-consider a restraining order or would that just make things worse? Would not communicating with him at all anymore be better? I'm sure this isn't a simple situation by any means but I hate to hear that you were hurt. This isn't the first time and I don't want this to continue for you.

@ExplorerSoul I think if I can just avoid him and not answer if he calls, it'll be ok. I was fine for 2 months without seeing him and then he called and I lost my mind. Hard to avoid someone who lives in the same road within walking distance, we all shop at the same stores.. Fortunately he keeps odd hours, though. I will file a restraining order of he comes near my family again but I'm scared it will make matters worse to take one out ju st because of me.. Maybe he will stay away and I won't have to consider it. He's done a lot of property damage here at my house and numerous physical confrontations between him and Shawn, though. πŸ˜•

Phil text me this morning saying it's best if he just disappears and we don't see each other anymore. I agreed. I was.. Ok.

3 hours later I was obliviously telling my husband about the dinner and the bread machine and mundane stuff im doing when he tells me his stump is probably going to have to be operated on. He lost his leg above the knee in a motorcycle wreck right in front of Phil's house 3 years ago.. I'm still not certain it wasn't a suicide attempt. He may lose more of his leg.. What if he loses enough that he can't wear a prosthetic? He refused hospital until after Christmas which omg is so stupid, everyone would understand waiting! I'm terrified. Absolutely sick terrified.

Then Phil texts again and says he's going to show up here and pull some shit on Christmas. I told him to stay off my property, out of my mailbox and don't call or text. What if Shawn died or something and Phil ruins the last Christmas my family has together, all because I didn't get help soon enough? Please God Shawn has lost enough please don't take more of his leg..

F*** Phil for real this time. This is life and death with Shawns leg and this is my family hes threatening not just me but everyone who will be here Christmas.

I deleted because I didn't want to invade your privacy with an unsolicited albeit well meaning and concerned comment. Sometimes I realize that's just not all that helpful, even though the intention is pure and good. I was a bit afraid for you upon hearing that though. I am glad it's road rash and not something worse. Do take care! Wishing you a lovely, peaceful, and safe holiday.

I got him some items for his desk at work, now that he's stuck drafting instead of working in the field surveying. And he's trying to lose weight so he asked me to stop making lunches. I asked for an indoor grill for the holidays, so I am going to try and make more fish and grilled chicken salads and things for us to have for dinner. He looks fine to me but it's affecting his health and ability to wear his prosthetic so it's not going to hurt any of us to eat better, plus Stella has gotten pretty sturdy herself. We never eat fast food or takeout, I just need to be more aware of how much I'm feeding everyone and he needs to stop eating so close to bed. I'll have to think about this, we all have a bad eating schedule.

I got the house super clean and etc because I don't work outside the home, I know he appreciates my cleanliness greatly so I try to stay on top of it without fail. We've just been swamped with holidays and appointments this past week. He's been pretty mean but he's hurting so bad I have just gone to bed when he won't let sleeping dogs lie. Maybe when he gets the new leg socket and we get back straight financially he will be less grouchy. One thing I gotta admit is we don't want for anything, the man is a damn good provider and I'm not sure he realizes that I realize it.

He's really hurt now so I can't complain about doing little stuff. He's got to see an orthopedic surgeon for some weird growth in his residual limb that is preventing him from wearing his prosthetic.

But an example of him taking advantage of his disability: we were in the bar a few weeks back and he has been going there for years and the barmaid said to him "Shawn, you have to walk," instead of bringing drinks to the table.. This was before this new problem and he was just being plain lazy. He does work but any second he's off the clock I'm practically wiping his arse for him. I'm willing to help him help himself without being resentful, as long as he puts forth eff ort. We have been together for 12 years and 3 of them trying to learn to cope without a limb. I just get tired sometimes, I'm human.

I quit wearing anything but lipstick and brow filler 7 years ago. Recently I was thumbing through a superfluous Allure magazine from a neighbor when I stumbled upon their monthly Beauty Box. I'm wearing mascara again and I bought foundation for special occasions as I have quite a red complexion. I've worn it once since I got it 2 weeks ago and am quite pleased. This month's beauty box came with a highlighter which I will try out next time I use the foundation. It also had a special eyeshadow brush if I feel adventurous.

Pick out clothes, matching panties and bra, put away pajamas
        Clinique face moisturizer
        Neck cream
        Intimate wipes any non-shower day
        Body lotion
        Burt s bees lip balm
        Deodorant
        Eyebrow pencil
        Mascara
        Lipstick and gloss
        Keratin oil on cuticle
        Hand lotion
        Coconut oil in hair
        Perfume

On to house routine and medicine routine. But looking good in case someone catches me off guard is the most important. I might not have swept yet but you can bet I'm wearing lipstick... Lol...

I don't want my face to stick like that!!!! I've started consciously having a bit of a little "cat smile" when I'm just resting because otherwise my face wants to settle into a frown.. And I'm quite pretty, I do NOT want that.

Everyone is balking against this. Looks like I am going to have to force it together and pay when I save up enough, I was hoping to complete this goal in November. I need to call around and find out how much it costs. We haven't had one done in 6 years and my mom's died, my spouse could have died but is living as an amputee, my grandfolks are mid 70s and I am not the picture of health. I think it is a piss poor idea to let $200 or something get in the way of this goal just because they don't want Shawn in the picture, but he's family and been family for over 11 years so he belongs in the Damn photo. I'm doing this for everyone but with my daughter in focus, she was like 7 in the last one and her 13th birthday is in 2 weeks.

The team who developed it, whom we referred to affectionately as The Robots, or 'Bots, all turned to different things in their lives. They let us all know when the last days would be, then it went read only, then it disappeared. I don't know all the specifics beyond that, but I think they only committed to the project up to that date to begin with. It was a good run. I am grateful to them. I found it accidentally, but it became an integral part of my life for a while. I formed some lovely online friendships with other users. I remember you as Thors Dottir. I am glad you're here. Yesterday I really didn't feel up to task and it took me all day to finish the hallway project. I finally got it done around 6 , right before my husband came in. It's a little past 9 this morning and I've already showered and cleaned the house so today looks more productive. I'm going to deep clean the bathroom and start on the porch, as my daughter is having a birthday party here this weekend and we need the porch table available. It's a huge mess but fortunately the weather is still in the 80s so I don't mind working with the doors open and the house airing out, and being outside some today.

Today I am going to tackle the hallway. I already reorganized both closets, now it's time to attack the door frames, doors, baseboards, and dust the heater etc. I'm leaving the picture frames out of this as they are part of another upcoming project that I have on here. I'll also sweep and bleach mop the floor with my steam mop while nobody is in the house and I can air it out. I bought a new broom this weekend and I'm pretty excited to sweep, lol.

Just got back from the store with all the ingredients for a Greek bread with feta cheese and spinach. I need to clean the bread machine as it is horrifically dusty from no use in maybe 6 years? I bought a fancy one and only used it maybe 3 times before my existential crisis. I have chicken fettuccini Alfredo for dinner tonight so if this turns out I will be very happy. I think to make 2 1-lb loaves, I messed it up last time I tried a big loaf. I don't know how to work this thing really. Trial and error I guess. If it fails there is garlic toast in the freezer.

Last night I made parmesan crusted chicken with sage-butter sauce and an artisan lettuce salad with homemade croutons (from leftover bread machine bread). The chicken and sauce was the first recipe I ever made, I pulled it of Bon Appetit magazine when I was 18. (I am currently 31) so that was fun! My family loved it.

The first proper meal i ever cooked was chicken fried steak (country fried steak in some areas) but you don't need a recipe for that. This was special, I couldn't believe I kept up with that recipe for all these years!

I cooked an $80 beef tenderloin for Christmas. I had talked it up so much I was in panic mode that it wouldn't turn out, but it did. Thank god because we really couldn't afford that, but it was the first time we had the remnants of our family together so Shawn sprung for it. I worried about nothing as it was perfect. And a horseradish, creme fraiche, chive sauce on the side.

Also pear and dried cherry custard crisp and dulce de leche cheesecake bars.

Do there's that then I'm making French bread in the bread machine and melt gruyere cheese on it to dip in the soup. Never had gruyere, I hope it's good.

Read a chapter in apocalypse culture today, interestingly enough it explored the scary progress of man becoming fused with machine but it went into prosthetics, and my husband's an amputee waiting to get upgraded to the robotic leg. Scary stuff but I guess it does have it's benefits. This book is pretty heavy reading, I should probably find a short fiction novel and something not so serious, Maybe. Or Not.

My grandpa has Alzheimer's and is deteriorating but slowly. He was talking about how he is working 6 puzzles now at once, I expressed my interest in doing one and he said he would send me the catalog where he orders his from. We only speak on the phone, I doubt I'll ever see any of that side of the family ever again, so it would be pretty special since I always liked him.

@seekingmimirswell Wow. 6 puzzles is a lot. I just read that people are researching the link between diabetes medicin and alzheimer's. But so far it's only tested on mice but it works on mice. Hopefully soon they will be able to cure alzheimer's in people :)

I put on my amazon list for the holidays a giant puzzle board. I had no clue they're like 75 bucks wtf? I better work more than just this one puzzle I Have For That Kinda $. My Mom Always Loved Working Puzzles, Rest Her Soul.

My daughter's friend was turning 15 and her folks couldn't have her a party, so I had a luau themed get together at my house. Not my best cake but I haven't messed with baking in years. It was half vanilla pudding cake and half pineapple. I had no leftovers as we had a pretty good turnout and she said it was her best birthday ever.

    Cinnamon crumb cake. Epic.
I try to keep a dessert made, I don't know what to make next as my little one dislikes chocolate.
