I'm curious about meditation and what are the difference between the many different techniques : Transcendental, Zazen, Vipassana, etc.
I now some of you guys practice meditation and perhaps have tried or use several different techniques. Please tell me what works for you and why ! Many thanks <3
@sessygail Thank you for this ! I will look it up
@celticchristian @celticchristian Wow those links look great ! I will read it tonight thank you so much <3
@librarysteg That you rarely miss a day is a sure sign this is working for you ! Kudos for maintaining such a good practice. That is what I hope to achieve as well, find what works for me so that I will actually want to maintain it. Thanks for the tip
@meridia I love yoga as well, so powerful
Hi guys !
I used to go by StarPrincess on the old 43
And I used the TigerWoman name during my short-lived attempt on PC
@tigerwoman OMG your entry was literally the FIRST entry I saw since signing up for the new site!! Destiny!! I did not even have to hunt you down - it just popped up! And - we found each other again YAY. I love how the universe works like that.
I had created a page to keep track of how many books I'm reading and will read this year, and left a little room on the left to add whether I liked it or not.
Today I created a similar page to keep track of the books my toddler is reading and will read this year too. I also left room on the left to add whether he liked it and how much. If it's a book we own I underline the title, if it's not underlined it means I borrowed it from the library. I figure it will also give a good picture of how much we borrow as well, once the year ends.
Yay for books :-)
TRYING THE BUJO THIS YEAR :-)
I'm one of those people that need pen and paper. And lists. I cannot even deal with grocery shopping without a list ;-)
And as far as organizers go, I've tried a few different things before... but so far the shoe never fit. No matter what I tried - be it the cheap planner, the fancy one, the Filofax, or the Moleskine - it never quite worked for me in practice. It often ended up making my life more complicated (as in turning planning into a chore) as opposed to making it simpler and more productive.
I was intrigued when I head how totally customizable the Bullet Journal was. It seems you can make it exactly as you want it to be. So I decided to give it a try this year ! I just used a notebook I already had.
I would highly recommend trying this out to any freelancer out there and seeing if it works for you. After a few weeks, I can tell it has already made a huge difference in how I organize my work and structure my day to day, so I'm pretty enthusiastic about it thus far. I need to try this for longer to see if it really works long term though. Let's see what happens !
What's already clear is that there are so many goals I won't be tracking here on 43 because I feel covered by my Journal. I'm thinking about tracking different things on here, possibly less of the daily goals and more of the longer term goals ? This would make sense given that I won't be coming online every day. If anyone else is doing both, let me know how you get on !
@tigerwoman yaaaaaaaay!!! so good to see you back
I remember you from popclogs !!!!! I had thought about you the other day
@ahorrasi so sweet that you thought of me ! Thanks !
@stephanie I chose to make mine pretty minimal but you're right, there is still a little work involved. It all depends on whether you think you'll enjoy creating your weekly or monthly templates or not. So far I am enjoying it, it has become a bit of a Sunday evening ritual with a podcast on ! And I love ticking the boxes on my tracking page (they call this habit tracking in the Bujo lingo, but you can track anything really)
May I ask what sort of diary you use (I'm always curious of these things!) ?
@stephanie Sounds like a neat diary !

I've never done this before. And I don't have a business background. But my husband and I have this idea and I want to make it into a reality ! So let's go...

@tigerwoman Sometimes that's all it takes to get started. You can learn the rest as you go.
