Our dog may need surgery on his knee. Mostly posting this here so that the spammers don't get to have the most recent entry. Friday morning, I have to take the dog for sedation xrays. That's going to cost about $500, depending on how many xrays they need to take. He's a hyper dog so I can't imagine him simmering down and staying still for xrays. So worried about him.

@wyverndust So sorry! What's your dog's name? Will keep a good thought for him -- and you.

@taylor we decided to take him in today for a regular exam because he seemed better. My partner decided we should wait for the xrays to see if the problem clears up on it's own. I wish I had the money for the xrays but I don't. Once I have the money, I will just do them on my own if I need to. He is still limping and his knee goes out when he pees or walks for a while

@wyverndust Does he have somewhere outside where he can lie down and rest/sleep in the grass or dirt? Having contact with the earth and its magnetic energy is one way that animals in the wild can heal themselves.

@taylor he does love doing this and sometimes I even join him. It was raining earlier today but it should clear up. thanks for the tip! I didn't know this could be healing but it makes sense. Will probably help me too.

@wyverndust Try glucosamine powder on his food. It's good for joint problems. When my dog blew her knee the vets were wanting to do knee surgery and we just didn't have the money. A friend suggested a holistic vet and after we saw him it won't be likely we'll go to a regular vet again. He suggested glucosamine powder on her food and it helped a lot. Sometimes you could tell she was a little stiff, but she was up and playing in no time once we started that.

@hercat66 thank you I will look for that powder. I have the pills for my own knee but I was hesitant to give him the pills. I didn't know there was a powder. thank you again!

I am struggling to remember old usernames and find old friends - I remember a really interesting and intelligent person who posted on the original site about running on the beach, cooking, his partner, and loads of great bird photos. I learned a lot about birds from this person. I think he had a goal to identify a certain number of birds and maybe he even kept a numbered list of all the birds he saw and identified.

I can't believe that I forgot his user name. I don't know if he is back, but he was one of my favorite people that I subscribed to. Does anyone remember him, and is he back on 43things.com?
